This is one of many auctions I have up for bids right now that include paperbacks from the Ballantine Original Adult Fantasy BAF series of books printed in the 1960s and 1970s that have the unicorn colophon at top right, so be sure to check out my other listings for more. I will be glad to combine auctions into one package to save you money on shipping, if you win more than one. (The added ship charge will be only a dollar for each auction you win after the first -- and even less if you win a bunch of them!) Also, I package all books in cardboard for protection, not in those thin white plastic bags or padded envelopes that some sellers use. My grading scale: Near Mint (just about perfect) Fine (some very minor imperfections) Very Good (has more notable flaws) Good (significant flaws, but not a disaster) Fair (really beaten up, but still intact and complete) Poor (a complete wreck) Here are the two books that you will get in this auction: 1) THE LOST CONTINENT by C.J. Cutliffe Hyne, First Printing February 1972, $1.25 cover price, cover art by Dean Ellis. Ballantine Books catalog number 345 02502 4 125. CONDITION: Good condition. Flaws include a cracked spine with hairline color-breaking creases; some edgewear and cornerwear; some impressions on front cover; more significant impressions on back cover, including a lot of vertical-line impressions; small color-breaking hairline diagonal creases at bottom left corner of back cover; a small tear where the front cover means the spine at top left; and the used-book price 25¢ written at top right of the first interior page. 2) PHANTASTES by George MacDonald, First Printing April 1970, 95¢ cover price, cover art by Gervasio Gallardo. Ballantine Books catalog number 345 01902 4 095. CONDITION: Good condition. The main flaw is a cracked spine so significant that the book naturally "falls open" between pages 52 and 53 (although none of the pages or signatures are loose). Some cornerwear/edgewear; a few minor impressions; a very small chip missing from top right corner, which also has an extremely small color-breaking white crease; some marks on page edges; and some chipping on interior pages. Also, note that the cover image on this copy was printed with a slight shift to the right, which means the top edges of the "Phantastes" title letters on the spine are visible at the left edge of the front cover, and the right curve of the circle around the unicorn colophon at top right is cut off.
