Impressive KPM c1870-1910 Double Handle Gilt Handpainted Floral Scenic Urn

Presented is an impressive antique KPM porcelain urn, dating to around
1870-1910. The urn is made in a classical double handle form, with a round
pedestal base. The urn is beautifully hand painted with a classical courting
scene on one side and a spray of colorful flowers on the other, with fine hand
gilt detailing and contrasting color elements throughout the rest of the piece.
Around the lower portion of the body is a wide band of foliate decoration, with
two sinuous snakes forming a continuous circle above it.

This piece is in excellent condition. The gilding and painted decoration are
in great shape. The old nut and bolt construction fastening the base to the body
is original and nice and tight. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no
repairs.

The urn is signed with the KPM mark in red on the underside.

The urn stands about 11 5/8 inches tall to the top of the handles, or 13 3/8
inches to the top of the lid. The urn measures about 7 5/8 inches handle to
handle, while the base measures about 4 5/8 inches in diameter.
