Usual library markings and card pouch. Formerly belonged to college library. Suitable for study or research.

Condition is fragile. Cover has some white paint? stains. Corners are bumped. Spine cloth at top is ripped. Cover hinges are split. Binding is loosened. Front endpaper and first title page are detached. Final contents page is detached. Text pages are attached, but should be considered vulnerable to detachment. Noted a couple of instances of marking in margins. Pages are in good readable condition. There are some edge tears. A couple of pages toward the back have notches on front edge, but text is unaffected.

It is a quaint, schorlarly book which exudes an ambience of the culture of it's time. Not a picture book. The focus is on the text, but there are a good sampling of primitive-style illustrations.
