JUDITH MOTZKIN URN WOVEN LID SPIRITKEEPER INDIVIDUAL SMOKY LAYARED LANDSCAPE POT

A full round form with rich warm colors from the fire painting process. Looks like a layered smoky mountain. Beautiful for a nature lover, hiker or explorer. 

This was used for display only as a decorative pot. Excellent condition with no chips or breaks. These small keepsake urns hold about 1/4 the volume of an individual urn. 

About the Artist:

Judith Motzkin makes the BreadPot, SpiritKeeper Urns, smoke and flame painted saggar fired vessels, mixed media, sculpture and installation.

Hand crafted and fired in Cambridge and Wellfleet MA.

Each has a unique shape and fire-painted surface. There is no glaze on these pieces, all the color comes from the saggar fire process in which they are nested in mineral soaked hay and sawdust. The color is absorbed into the burnished white clay during the firing.
