This is a quality antique wooden gold leaf frame. It has some ware which adds to its history and uniqueness.  It could be left as it is or restored to its original state.  I do not know the man the picture.  Looks likely to be an Italian government official, may be a constable.  Could easily be converted to be a mirror. I opened the bad to check for names or dates and did not find either. See pictures for condition.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
