Please check the photos. This is the Shohonyama Tanba Saeki-to Black, a natural whetstone from Kyoto, soft but dense, approx. grit #800 for the coarse / middle process. Absorption of water is relatively fast, with scratches appearing at the #800 level, but with a distinctive glossy finish. Saeki used to mine before Aoto mined, this one is a very old stock at our supplier's warehouse, seems to have been stored for a generation, so can be said to be vintage. In good condition.
Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use. These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured sizes are not accurate. This is a lifetime investment for people who live sharpening their tools, do not hesitate to ask me your questions.”
