Lago Umbria Italy Listed Laguna Beach California Women Artist Roxoli Seabury Watercolor. Measures 11 x 3 3/4 inches (matt opening). Overall measures 17 x 8 inches. Foxing to outer edges of sheet otherwise in Very Good condition.

Roxoli Seabury was a painter who specialized in still life and ocean views and Craftsman style. A Teacher who studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Broadmoor Art Academy. Pupil W. Ross and Robert Reid. You will find in the drawings I am listing many different styles, Plein Air, Impressionist and Murals. I found a similarity in her work and that of Lucia K. Mathews or Arthur Mathews. Perhaps their paths crossed during her time in San Francisco.
Roxoli Seabury taught at the University of Kansas, Lawrence and a resident of Colorado Springs before moving to California in 1932. Lived in San Francisco before moving to Laguna Beach. She was active in the Laguna Beach Art Association and designed the pictoral map highlighting the homes and studios of artists who lived there, as well as other cultural centers of Laguna.
