ORIGINAL photograph print of Courtice Pounds in jester costume - the year is not stated, but I have been told it is from 1890. Judging by the quality of the paper, it looks as though the photo is from a newspaper or magazine clipping. I do not know what is printed on the reverse (if anything) because I didn't want to remove it from the mount.

The costume in which he is pictured looks to be that of Jack Point, according to Wilson/Lloyd "Gilbert and Sullivan: the Official D'Oyly Carte Picture History, which contains a (different) photo of Pounds in the same costume and says that he played Point on tour.

The card on the reverse is a little marked, but the condition on the front is excellent. See photos for detail.

The clipping has been set into a cream mount for easy framing. Size of mount is 245 x 315mm.
