This is for lovely 1885 artwork by German artist, Marie Laux, of birds perched on wires, entitled "Auf Der Wanderschaft" (translation from German: "On one's travels" or "On the tramp"). On the title name plate is the artist's name, M. Laux, (also the photograph is signed, Marie Laux), the title, "Auf Der Wanderschaft"and numbers 2093 and 1885. This artwork is in GREAT CONDITION!!!

On the paper back is a label that says: "This photograph is taken in Munich from the original by Franz Hanfstaengl, who owns the exclusive right for its publication. No copy genuine unless bearing his name, and the signature of his sole American Agents." Another label has written: " Geo. Kirchner & Co., New York". There is also the label of the framer, M. J. Smith from Lawrence, Mass.

The photograph is nicely matted and handsomely framed in a dark solid wood frame with glass and a hanger on the back. The overall frame measures approx. 12" x 21-1/2".

It  is a very charming artwork by a well regarded German artist, I think the winning bidder will absolutely LOVE it!!

It comes from my smoke-free, pet-free home.
