Signed Kasugai Hand Painted Japanese Meiji Period Pink Lotus Blossom Cup & Saucer Circa 1868-1892

Rare beautiful Meiji Period porcelain lotus blossom cup and saucer. Hand painted in pink and green, with gold and black decoration along the edge. The cup is signed on the base in Japanese characters
Kasugai Zo which translates as Kasugai made. The saucer is marked on the bottom by the exporter, Deakin Bros & Co Yokohama. Circa 1868 to 1892. This is an absolutely stunning cup and saucer made of the highest quality thin porcelain. A very rare piece that I have never seen another like.

Very minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

The cup measures approximately 3 5/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/8 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 5 3/4 inches wide.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
