The item is a pair of Men's Adidas 5.10 Trailcross GTX Black Mountain Bike Shoe / S29146 / Size US 8.5 new with tags (only tried on to determine the fit).  The original box is a bit roughed up due to transatlantic shipping - Please see pictures.  First purchased 9 (on sale on eBay now) but it was too big, then purchased 8.5 and felt 'perfect' initially with thick socks.  But with regular sochs, it was definately too big so ended up purchasing 8. I think I'm settled with US 8.0.  I felt there is not much change from 8.5 to 8, but noticably different from 9 to 8.5.  I reckon this particular shoe is 1/2 size larger than the 'normal' athletic shoes. Do read some online reviews - They all share my experience with this shoe re size/fit.
