Desk Accessory Stylish Inkwell

"Sold as Seen" / 'As Found' as its inkpot lid is missing  -  please see photos & 'Condition'

Antique pen / ink stand. Its hinged inkpot lid is missing and some damage to rim. Also, missing ink well insert, [easily found on ebay].

Display piece for the pen collector or could be used as desktop paperweight or pen / card tray holder? 

I am guessing made of brass or bronze with, am guessing, polished wood inserts and wooden under base.


My best guess, datewise is late 18th to 19th century? [it may be Georgian? or Victorian??? Buyer to make own mind up on this?]. And, I am guessing made in the UK?

‘Condition’ and photo’s form an important part of the description:    Pre-owned a/f:  Missing its cover lid to the inkwell. Also, the inkwell pot is missing [easily purchased on ebay]. Some damage to left-hand side bar of the pen stand holder part, where one stem has detached & other not quite in correct position, but this does not affect usage [see photos]. Other wear commensurate with age and use, scuffs/scratches, tarnish, dinks/dings, marks, verdigris, dust, grime & residues of old polish, particularly in the crevices. Age-related shrinkage cracks in places. There may be manufacturing 'imperfections' and 'blemishes' from when item originally made. Please see all 24 photo’s which form part of the description.
