Vintage Boho Hippie Colorful Shell Flower in Lucite Belt Buckle Handmade

This is a unique, handmade belt buckle that is very colorful and creative.  Sea shells were used to make up the petals of the flower. I am not sure what was used to create the yellow background but I do see some round hollow beads between the petals. The center of the flower is turquoise in color but I am not sure if  a real turquoise stone was used to create the look. The rectangular buckle has a gold tone braided edge all the way around. It measures ~ 3.5" x 2.5". The gold or brass base has a hook on the back along with a 2" leather  loop to secure the belt. I am not sure how functional the loop is because the 2 fasteners don't unsnap. They are 2 Phillips screws and a couple llarge staples glued into the leather. I don't see how the leather piece can be opened
