ALICE in “ALICE pack” stands for All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment.  It’s an equipment attachment system that was adopted by the United States military in 1973. The goal of the ALICE system was to be more lightweight than previous standard packs.  The packs come in small, medium, or large sizes and can be used with a field pack frame.  They are designed to carry large loads of gear simultaneously. Despite being phased out of military service, ALICE packs remain popular and are still used by the Navy and the Marine Corps for training. They are also suitable for many outdoor spaces due to their ruggedness and durability.

Specifications:
Set measures 18"H x 14"W x 10"D and weighs in at 3.5 lbs.
Carrying capacity up to 50 lbs (per the ALICE Field Manual - 1973).
Pack is constructed of water repellent 420 denier military Nylon duck.

  • Lid/Cover has map pocket with Velcor closure;
  • Three (3) exterior sustainment pockets with adjustable Snap Closure;
  • External webbing (front and both sides) for attachment of pouches and gear.
