Description: Michael Jackson: Thriller 40 is a 2023 documentary film directed by Nelson George celebrating the 40th anniversary of Thriller. The documentary includes never-before-seen footage behind the making of the classic album and music videos for the LP. Rare footage for the first time can be seen in this documentary such as Michael in the studio with Paul McCartney working on “The Girl Is Mine” in addition some very rare outtakes from the music videos for “Beat It” and audio recordings from Michael Jackson’s archives about being locked out of MTV and trying to excel in the production of his music videos to be better than the current music videos that were being played at the time. Celebrated director, John Landis, who directed the unforgettable “Thriller” video will shed light on its production. The RARE archival footage reveals Michael discussing the landmark record. Viewers will hear the late superstar discussing his mindset going into making the album. “I came in angry,” he said. In addition, the documentary will feature footage of Jackson’s first moonwalk and how it changed things.
Additionally, the film will feature artists who grew up with the album. Forty years after the release of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller,’ the best-selling album of all-time, director Nelson George takes fans back in time to the making of a pop masterpiece, featuring never-before-seen footage and candid interviews, allowing viewers to fully experience the creation of a cultural phenomenon that continues to influence the worlds of music, television, dance, fashion and more to this day.
