SASS EMPORIA are delighted to offer this bold and colourful glazed atomic shaped ceramic vase produced by the firm Zeller Keramik of West Germany in the town of Zell-Hamersbach. The Zeller pottery had been operating since 1859, but was merged with Zeller when taken over by Georg Schmider in 1907 where the firm continues to manufacture both art and tableware ceramics to this day.

This ceramic is numbered 4652, an abundant circulative hooped form from the highly collectable decor range called Iris, first released in 1969. Iris boasted an ultra contemporary colourway that was well ahead of its time. Pre-dating the Milano Memphis style, Schmider developed a minimalist decor handpainted by artists with bright horizontal bands of solid blue, red and yellow glazes. This is a rare (uncommonly found) form in excellent collectors condition, sporting one of the most striking decors ever released by Zeller!
