Lovely near mint condition 1950s Previously Unissued as complete as this Bethlehem Label pair of studio sessions of cool Jazz from Jimmy Giuffre led bands (him on 3 horns) & Charlie Mariano called The West Coasters, which came out in 1982. Coincidentally octets to both sessions with some great names including Bob Holman, Max Bennett, Conte Candoli, Rosolino & Rowles and a mixing up of textures to quite a few tracks with Tuba and Harp sometimes included. (OK just found out that all of the very rare Herbie Harper self titled ep is included in this, not sure if the same takes) The sleeve notes that the sound may not be what to expect today (meaning 1982), but in fact the sound is better than I expected after that warning, and is in true mono for the mid fifties date. Lovely music, nice modern take on older standards in places, and a couple of original tunes for the session from the Pianist Bobby Scott who is in the 2nd Band. The bonus lp is called Jam Sessions and is also West Coast same era, and only the second lp I have come across with Herb & Lorraine Geller to it, plus a crossover with the artists on the West Coasters LP. This one is on a Private Californian label, artwork is like a reel of tape box from a studio, and is probably a Soundboard sourced session, in excellent condition.
Our ethos is to offer you best sounding analogue only pressings of vintage records. Here is another beauty of that type.
We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e no extra charge after the 1st lp!.
We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water.
This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
