Up for bids is this antique mid 1800's gray stoneware 1/2 gallon storage crock with a cobalt blue stenciled design as pictured made by the Hamilton & Jones pottery of Greensboro, Pennsylvania. The crock stands 8" high and measures 5" wide across the bottom. It is in nice clean condition with no cracks but there is a chip in the glaze just above the head of the bird that is dark in color and looks like it has been there for a long time . There also are a couple shallow scratch marks at the bottom front of the crock that were made before the crock was fired in the kiln that can be seen in the last two pictures. Otherwise everything looks good.
