18ct Yellow Gold Brooch with Safety Chain.

The brooch is in the shape of a Hawker Hunter fighter plane.

It is decorated with a single gemstone. It is a clear stone with a blue hue.

Dimensions: 3.8cm by 2.8cm by 1.2cm

Hallmarks:

Marker's Mark: The marker's mark is partial worn. The first letter 'C' and the third letter 'T' are visible. The second letter is worn and we are unable to read it.

Metal Purity: 18ct gold (750)

Assay Office: London (leopard head)

Date Mark: 1993 (T)

Commemorative Item - History of the Brooch:

This brooch was donated to us by the step-daughter of Lieutenant Commander John Francis Hall who was in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. He later joined 'The Rough Diamonds' aerobatic display team, which was formed in 1965 and disbanded in 1969. This brooch was made in memory of Lieutenant Commander Hall.

This brooch is being sold by St Oswald's Hospice in accordance with the wishes of Lieutenant Commander Hall's family. 100% of the funds raised by this sale will go towards the vital work of our north-east charity.
