GDM Limoges Hand Colored Purple Violets & Gold Match Box Striker C.1882-1900

Nice porcelain match box with match striker on the inside of the lid. Decorated with hand colored transfer purple violet flowers. With gold highlights to the lid finial and clouded gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the bottom CFH over GDM France. This is an underglaze whiteware / manufacturer's mark was used by Gerard Dufraisseix and Morel in Limoges France between 1891 and 1900. Also marked in a red double circle CH Field Haviland Limoges. This is an overglaze decorating mark used by Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel between 1882 and 1900.

Has some wear to the gilding, a small chip to the edge of the lid, two chips to the edge of the box, and two chips to the edge of the attached undertray.

Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches long x 3 7/8 inches wide x 2 3/8 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
