I’m offering today an adorable, all vinyl Effanbee baby doll, circa 1967.  She measures approximately 16" to 17" long.  She is hallmarked on the back of the neck "Effanbee, 1967".  She truly looks like a real life newborn baby doll.  She is all soft vinyl, but heavy vinyl.  She is fully jointed at the neck, arms and legs, which allows so many different poses.  She has a bent leg style body with chubby baby legs, but can still stand quite well.

I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has light blond hair, which is cut into a baby cut with bangs going down to the middle of her forehead.  She is wearing a vintage pale pink voile bonnet with an adorable stand up brim.  As you go down to her face, she has beautiful sky blue open and close sleep eyes which open and close freely.  This doll from Effanbee in 1967 did not have eyelashes.  I've owned several of them, but for some reason the designer of the doll chose not to put eyelashes on her.  I guess to represent the look of a newborn baby was the reasoning behind that.  She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism, which flows down to her precious open mouth.  There is a hole in the mouth for giving a bottle to, but I have no idea if it works or not.  I do not give my old dolls water or liquids for fear of doing something I shouldn't have done.  I'll leave that up to her new mommy. Her face coloring is so pretty and just as I said above, an absolutely adorable baby doll from 1967.

I wanted something original for this sweet newborn baby doll, so I decided to go through my Vintage doll clothes collection.  I found this precious pale pink cotton voile dress with short sleeves.  The bodice is high and is trimmed with delicate white lace between it and the skirt of the dress.  If you go around to the back side of the dress, there are four white buttons which keep it in place.  Coming back around to the front of the dress, the sleeves are trimmed with the same white lace as at the bodice and come down to just below the elbows.  I put a pale pink bow with a delicate flower in the center of the bow and sewed it to the very center of the bodice.  The pink satin streamers off the bow hang down to the front of the dress.  The skirt has a nice full gather, which comes down to just above her knees. There is a nice size hemline to the dress, which I didn't add any lace to.  I decided to keep it very simple.  Under the dress, it is lined with pale pink satin, trimmed with delicate and dainty flat lace.  Under her dress, she is wearing white cotton panties.  I had these white cotton booties crocheted for her and added wide pink satin ribbon and tied large bows to the top of each booty.  She is an adorable doll and one you will be proud of owning.

My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.  Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

SIZE:

This vintage baby doll is a larger doll measuring approximately 16/17" tall.

CONDITION:

This doll is vintage, but in what I would consider good condition.  Her body has been cleaned and sanitized.  Her eyes do open and close freely.  She has all her fingers and toes.  Her beautiful dress is vintage from the same era as the doll, but has been laundered, starched and ironed.  Her pale pink bonnet is equally as old as the doll and has been laundered as well. Her booties are new and were hand made for this sweet baby doll.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
