PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING OR MAKING AN OFFER.

18th century German Meissen porcelain figurine of a shepherdess with bird case. Designed by Kandler in 1750. Unmarked as is typical of many early Meissen figurines of this period. This example likely produced during the 1750s

Has wear to the gilding, areas of chipping to the hat, chips to the leaves and rose at the bust, a chip to the bottom of the yellow sash, a chip to the back of her skirt below the bodice, a chip to the bottom of her skirt in the back, chips and over painting to the tree and leaves, a chip to one of the sheep's ears, and a chip the bottom of her nose. Her head has been broken off at one time and glued back on. Her right arm, hand, and fingers have been broken at one time and professionally restored. This is an old restoration with flaking and losses to the restoration. There is also evidence of previous restoration and overpainting to the chips on the hat and where her head was broken off.

Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide x 10 1/4 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
