The Works of Charles DickensLondon: Chapman and Hall, 1892-3.

A fantastic set, with each volume illustrated. As far as we can trace, this seems to not have been originally published as a set, but released as individual volumes, but here we have them brought together, all in their original publisher's blue cloth bindings.

Includes: Oliver Twist (1892); The Pickwick Papers (1892); A Tale of Two Cities (1893); Christmas Books (1892); Dombey and Son (1892); David Copperfield (1892); American Notes and Reprinted Pieces (1893); Martin Chuzzlewit (1892); A Child's History of England (1893); Edwin Drood (1893); Nicholas Nickleby (1892); Little Dorrit (1893); Bleak House (1893); Hard Times and Pictures of Italy (1893); The Old Curiosity Shop (1892); Christmas Stories (1893); Great Expectations (1893); Our Mutual Friend (1893); The Uncommercial Traveller (1893); Sketches by Boz (1892); Barnaby Rudge (1892).

Size: 132 x 196 mm (approx., each)

Condition:

Contemporary full blue cloth, boards stamped in bind, the initials of Charles Dickens of the front and Chapman & Hall on the rear. Generally the set shows very attractively on the shelf, with the bindings a little rubbed, some slightly discoloured, but generally very good. All boards attached. Some volumes with some text block and spine separation, some of which have cracked in the text block but with the leaves remaining attached but fragile, others with a few leaves detached or loose. Some volumes contain engraved title pages. Front blank and half title of the Uncommercial Traveller and Hard Times untrimmed at the top. Generally very clean through all of the text blocks, text legible. The volumes were not collated for a lack of an authoritative source which couldn't be located, but they do appear to be complete despite a few volumes with detached leaves or gatherings.

About WoodPaz Books:

WoodPaz Books is an online antiquarian and rare book shop dedicated to great customer service and secure eco-friendly packaging. We know how frustrating it is to receive a book in sub-standard packaging, especially an expensive one! That's why every single one of our books is sent generously wrapped in bio-degradable bubblewrap housed in a sturdy cardboard box, irrespective of price. We mostly use Royal Mail, but occasionally use other providers for heavy orders, or orders for more than £2,500. We really do strive for the accuracy of our descriptions and condition reports in each listing. We aim to mention all of the main areas of the condition: the spine, hinges, joints, boards, page edges, page block, etc. We are highly knowledgeable on books and love talking about them! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

If you have any issues with any aspect of your order, please contact us first before leaving feedback and we will endeavour to rectify any issues. Our return rate is less than 1%, and many book-lovers swear by us as their source for luxury books. Thank you for considering us!
