This is an original antique book print/plate titled EMBLEMA TERTIUM (3rd Emblem) from "Virgo Maria Mystica Sub Solis Imagine Emblematice Expressa" - published in 1681 by Jan de Leenheer

The illustration is by Gaspar Bouttats, a Flemish printmaker/engraver of the Baroque period.

At the bottom of the image is a Latin phrase EXORITUR FULGETQUE SIMUL.

The overall size of the page including margins is approx 6" wide x 7 1/2" tall (15cm x 19cm); there is text on the reverse side which I believe is Dutch.

The paper is 338 years old and as such has age related wear, discolouration, staining, edge damage - please study the photos and scans carefully to best establish condition of item prior to purchase (The first two images are photos, the next two are scans - the photo images show any wear/damage to the edges of the pages better than the scans)

Would make a nice framed piece or as an addition to an antique ephemera collection.

Please check out my Ebay shop for lots more prints from antique/vintage books, newspapers and magazines.

Many thanks for looking!
