In the 1920s and 1930s the Chinese made many paperweights, including copies of the Baccarat pansy and the New England Poinsettia.  One type that is characteristic of the CHINESE culture is the "painted" weight.  These were usually medium–sized with scenic designs, butterflies, grasshoppers, flowers, etc.  Occasionally we find either a large sized one or a miniature.

This painted weight was probably made in the 1920s or 1930s.   It features Flowers, Branches and leaves with a Bird.  The paperweight is 2-3/16" in diameter and 1-1/16" high.  The weight is in near perfect condition with only a tiny bit of very light wear to the perimeter.  It is signed "CHINA" on the bottom.
