Preface by Amos B. Hoover to 1992 Edition: This is a biographical history of Hans Huber and his descendants. He with his family came from Europe and settled in Earl Township in what is now Hoover Avenue in New Holland, Pennsylvania. My great-grandfather, David B. Hoover (No. 870) was born on the Huber-Hoover homestead. He collected his family’s history and from a local level, he became the prime motivator in convincing Harry M. Hoover (No. 832) to compile this book. As historian of the Hoover Reunion Association, Harry published his first sketch on Hans Huber in 1904. After a quarter century of research, his work finally culminated into this 1928 publication. It is now well over sixty years since the Huber-Hoover History book has been published, and it has become so rare that much of today’s (1992) population, may not be aware of this extremely important history.
