You are bidding on this amazingly detailed hand made pottery figure.

The wooden base has these words;

PIKEMAN

ROYALIST YELLOWCOAT REGT.

ENGLISH CIVIL WAR

1642-1651

It is signed on the wooden base, but I have been unable to identify the artist, possibly Dave Poten?

The Royalist yellowcoat regiment wore the traditional full corselet of breastplate, backplate and tassets, and a helmet of semi-cabasset shape.

It measures approx 9" high x 9" wide, both measurements include wooden plinth. This was once glued to the base but has come away. This could easily be glued back on but will leave that to the new owner.

Base of figure shows stable crack, please see photos as they form part of the description. No other damage. Minor wear due to age.
