1880'S BLUE MILK GLASS OPALINE FIGURAL 'BOOK' MATCHHOLDER

1880's blue opaline milk glass figural 'Book' matchholder. Manufactured by Adams & Co, the matchholder has embossed patterned 'strikers' on both sides and under the base. Lovely deep sky blue color. Approximately 3" tall, and approximately 3" by 2 1/4" across the base. 3/4" very flat clamshell flake under the foot, please note the last photo, at the bottom of the base. Often difficult-to-find figural matchholder for the early lamp or tobacco enthusiast.
