Pair of soft top catch caps, Mazda MX-5

If your MX5 soft top is leaking in the front corner, these are the first things to check.  They are plastic caps to extend the nipple on the front of the catch so they fit properly in the cup part of the bracket on the screen rail.  If these are missing or broken then the soft top won't make a watertight seal at the front, no matter how tight the clamps are adjusted.  These are NOT the complete latch assemblies, they are just the caps.

To fit: Remove the front clamp from the soft top (3 screws) The cap is held on by one small crosshead screw from behind.

Note that some of the later mk2.5 models had a fatter cap on the latches, these are no longer available from Mazda although we may still have a few in stock, see eBay item number 172859611990.

Note that there are of course lots of other reasons the hood will leak, but if these are broken, none of the other fixes will cure it.  The next things to check are the rubber seals, the tension cables and the roof itself, if the roof has shrunk, or split it'll let water in to the top of the seals.
