This is an antique Victorian button pull, fully hallmarked: "G&CL," with the anchor symbol for the city of Birmingham assay office, the leopard for sterling silver, and a lower case "e" for the year 1904 (Birmingham, England, UK). The hook section is stamped "Steel" on the shaft near the handle; this stamp is slightly worn away. I tested the handle, and it is sterling silver. Please note: only the handle is sterling, the hook is steel as marked. Measures 3 1/8" long end to end. The handle section is 1.75" long and 3/8" wide at the widest point. Hook section is 1.5" long.  Weighs 4.6 grams, which includes the weight of the steel section. Beautiful patina on this: tarnish on the ornate silver handle, and significant marks/darkening of the metal on the steel hook. Overall in very good pre-owned condition, flaws as noted.
