This is a new, good quality, replacement "stubby" AM/FM radio aerial mast suitable for VW models with a rear roof mounted aerial. This is a shorter "stubby" replacement mast, manufactured in Italy by an Original Equipment (OE) supplier. This mast has a total length of 170 mm (7 inches) and a 5 mm diameter integral male thread. Attractively styled it has 20 mm domed top section, a 115 mm slightly tapered shaft, with shallow groove around it's waist, and a flared 35 mm flaired bottom section (see second photos for better detailing). Similar in design and specification to the VW OE mast fitted to later VW Polo and Up models. This mast is for AM/FM radio reception. Please note it is not normally suitable for cars fitted with VW's factory fitted GPS Sat Nav or DAB systems as these have larger thread, unless it is an early version that has an upright AM/FM mast, immediately behind a shark-fin element which contains the GPS receiver.

This is a quality OEM part to European vehicle makers OE standards & specification, and should not be confused with many cheaper, poorer quality "universal fit all" copies with adapters to suit different thread sizes......if you wish to maintain your car's superior reliability and build quality, fit parts, to vehicle manufacturers high standards, and not some cheap inferior quality part of dubious quality and origin.
