Toggle switches in confined spaces, or just toggle switches whose function you really care about need to be protected from elbows and anything that might trip or break them. Also in aircraft and vehicles that bounce around a lot, you need some sort of hand stabilization to be able to operate the switch at all.
Perihelion Design sells these X-Plane Toggle Switch Guards that do the job. These were once standard in many aircraft, spacecraft, and control panels in hundreds of strange vehicles where the security of switches are important.
These are similar to our other aluminum switch guards, but finished in Black Anodize. They are designed for installation into 0.156" (4mm) holes on one-inch (25.4mm) centers and fasten with supplied stainless steel M4 Kepnuts.

These switch guards look good for both the standard size 15/32” keyed bushings and 12 mm keyed bushing switch guards. Pushbuttons, breakers, and other controls are fine too. Switches shown not included of course.
