This replacement clickwheel is compatible with the 1st Generation of the iPod Mini. The 1st Gen Mini is distinguished from the 2nd Gen Mini in that the 2nd Gen has the capacity clearly (4gb/6gb) etched in the back of the casing, while the 1st Gen does not.

If the scroll function is not working or if one or more of the clickwheel buttons are not responding, replacing this part can fix the problem. Additionally, if the cable was damaged during another repair it would be necessary to replace.

NOTE: The 1st Generation and 2nd Generation models use different clickwheels.
