The impressive detail of this beautiful replica begins with an aluminum body, highlighted by a heart-shaped grille. The 19" long model has a hand cut and highly polished mahogany chassis with spoke wire wheels (including real rubber tires) with poseable steering. Beneath the engine cover that lifts open is a non running replica of the Spindizzy engine with massive side exhaust pipes. Beautifully offered in a 1:8 scale replica. 
This one goes way, way back to 1939 and the New York World's Fair, where the hand-built, high-pitched whining Spindizzy racers were on display. Powered by a model airplane engine, the original models were stunningly capable of speeds up to 150 mph.
These aerodynamic race cars thrilled fans as they raced on wooden tracks. Resembling the full-size racers of their day, several spindizzy's competed at once, tethered by cables to a central pole. Re-live those glorious days with this hand-tooled collectible. Features include: Traditionally die stamped body parts in aluminum & brass, real rubber tires, spoke wheels, and a polished Mahogany wood frame. Lift the hood to admire the miniature engine, turn the cockpit wheel and angle the front wheels, and feel the luxurious leather driver’s seat.
