Bausch & Lomb Ray-Ban Wayfarer Woodies (Model B&L 5022) had only one year of production, across the years 1989 - 1990. No other production runs have ever been made, thus these iconic sunglasses are the most rare and the most sought-after Ray-Ban Wayfarers ever produced.

I bought this pair in September 1989 when I was working in Saudi Arabia - they were the latest model. They have been worn very little, hence their mint condition.

PLEASE NOTE that there are a couple of pairs of Woodies for sale in the US (one on ebay) for between $800 - $1000, however these each have scratched lenses. The pair for sale here are in immaculate condition and the lenses are COMPLETELY SCRATCH FREE front and back.

The inside of the left arm carries the legend "WAYFARER", whilst the right carries the legend "B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A.". The Model number B&L 5022  is imprinted on the inside of the frame above the right eye. (See images.)

The sunglasses come complete with the original Ray-Ban soft tan cover. Over the 30 intervening years since purchase, the foam lining of the cover has perished and has been removed, however this is a minor point as the foam served little to protect the glasses anyway. The cover itself, other than for this, is also in mint condition. I even have the original brown neck string that came with them, and at 28 years of age, that's looking pretty good too!

If you are a Ray-Ban aficionado, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't buy these! Store them away for another 10 years as an investment, or wear them and be the coolest dude on the block in your Woodies - they really are a head-turner.
