Here in our Bake Sale we have a another great find for Apple collectors and computer history buffs... This vintage Apple Lisa Binder / Manual is still sealed in the original plastic!  Please Note: This item is over 30 years old, so there is some wear to the corners of the box, a crease along the bottom and the plastic wrap has yellowed in some places. Please see photos for details. Thirty years ago, Apple unveiled the Apple Lisa, a pioneering machine that introduced the mouse-driven graphical user interface to a wide audience and opened a new chapter in personal computer history. The Mac borrowed heavily from the Lisa, and the Mac went on to great things while the Lisa floundered. As a result, it’s tempting to treat the Lisa as merely a footnote in the history of Apple. But as anyone who has used a real Lisa knows, Apple’s first GUI-based computer played host to many distinctive quirks and traits that tend to get overlooked in the history books. This auction comes with a 30 day warranty from our store. We are experts at packing and shipping so your item will arrive safely and in the same condition that it left our store. Please remember to check the box to follow our Ebay store as we are adding new items every day. Dan's Bake Sale also buys new, used audio & video equipment. So if you have anything for sale, please feel free to reach out to us and let us know what you have!

More information about the Apple Lisa computer:
The Lisa is a personal computer designed by Apple Computer, Inc. during the early 1980s. It was the first personal computer to offer a graphical user interface in an inexpensive machine aimed at individual business users. Development of the Lisa began in 1978. The Lisa sold poorly, with only 100,000 units sold. In 1982, after Steve Jobs was forced out of the Lisa project, he joined the Macintosh project. The Macintosh is not a direct descendant of Lisa, although there are obvious similarities between the systems. The final revision, the Lisa 2/10, was modified and sold as the Macintosh XL. The Lisa was a more advanced system than the Macintosh of this time in many respects, such as its inclusion of protected memory, preemptive multitasking, a generally more sophisticated hard disk based operating system, a built-in screensaver, an advanced calculator with a paper tape and RPN, support for up to 2 megabytes (MB) of RAM, expansion slots, a numeric keypad, data corruption protection schemes such as block sparing, non-physical file names (with the ability to have multiple documents with the same name), and a larger higher-resolution display. It would be many years before many of those features were implemented on the Macintosh platform. Protected memory, for instance, didn't reappear until the Mac OS X operating system was released in 2001. The Macintosh featured a faster 68000 processor (7.89 MHz) and sound, however, while the complexity of the Lisa operating system and its programs taxed the 5 MHz Motorola 68000 microprocessor so that consumers said it felt sluggish, particularly when scrolling in documents. While the documentation shipped with the original Lisa only ever referred to it as The Lisa, officially, Apple stated the name was an acronym for Local Integrated System Architecture or "LISA". Since Steve Jobs' first daughter (born in 1978) was named Lisa Nicole Brennan, it was normally inferred that the name also had a personal association, and perhaps that the acronym was invented later to fit the name. Andy Hertzfeld states the acronym was reverse engineered from the name "Lisa" in autumn 1982 by the Apple marketing team, after they had hired a marketing consultancy firm to come up with names to replace "Lisa" and "Macintosh" (at the time considered by Jef Raskin to be merely internal project codenames) and then rejected all of the suggestions. Privately, Hertzfeld and the other software developers used "Lisa: Invented Stupid Acronym", a recursive backronym, while computer industry pundits coined the term "Let's Invent Some Acronym" to fit the Lisa's name. Decades later, Jobs would tell his biographer Walter Isaacson: "Obviously it was named for my daughter."

Perfect feedback is as important to us as it is to you, so please reach and communicate to us any issues you may have and we will try our best to resolve any problems.  If you are an International buyer, please ask for a shipping quote before bidding, because some items need to ship Fedex or UPS because of their value or size.  Buyers with zero feedback should contact me before bidding.

Shipping & Payment information We accept Paypal payments only. Payment Must be Received within 3 Business Days after auction has ended. Our handling time starts once the item is paid for. We include the cost of insurance and tracking in the shipping charges. We do NOT  send expensive shipments without insurance and tracking. We can only ship to addresses that are confirmed Paypal addresses.  For a majority of the light weight items we prefer  to ship priority mail to save you money, and if an item weighs 13 oz or less, we will ship First Class or First Class Parcel.  If your item is 14 oz or more, we may be able to send your item Parcel Select which is Ebay's name for what the Post Office calls Standard Post (formerly Parcel Post).  Please note that service can sometimes take up to 2 weeks for delivery and we have no control over when it will arrive. We ship heavier items Fedex because their rates are much lower for heavier items. Fedex is also used when an expensive item requires insurance and safe shipping is required. Vintage musical instruments with a value of over $1,000 will need to be shipped by UPS. We are experts at packing and shipping so your item will arrive safely and  in the same condition that it left our store.

International Shipping Yes we ship Internationally. Paypal payments are not accepted from all countries, so you may want to contact us before bidding to confirm if we can ship to your location. Send us your complete address and let us know if it is a business or home address. We will determine if the item should be sent Priority Mail International, Priority Mail Express, or Fedex based on its size, weight, and value.  We may charge a small handling fee on top of the shipping cost for items shipping out of North America. This handling charge will be shown in our auction. This handling fee covers the extra time to fill out all of the extra paperwork. Please ask for an International shipping quote before bidding.  For orders that are shipped outside of the United States there may be local customs or duties. Please be aware that all countries have different fees and procedures for incoming packages. Please check with your country’s customs office for precise charges before placing your bid. We ship international shipments with duty and taxes unpaid. You are responsible to pay all duties, taxes, VAT, etc. imposed by your local government when the package arrives in your country. We cannot control delays due to customs in your country. If your tracking number shows the shipment is in your country, you need to be patient while it goes through the customs process. Note: if you are purchasing electronic equipment from us, please make sure that the item is compatible with the power requirements of your country.

Additional Payment Info The Ebay calculator is always wrong, so please verify the international shipping costs first before bidding. Typically the International shipping costs are much lower than the Ebay calculator shows.  After you purchase, please confirm your shipping address and phone number and let us know if this address is a business or residential. Thank you.
