JAPANESE SOUVENIR JACKET “SUKAJAN”

This lightweight jacket features a striking design of an embroidered "Raijin and Fujin" on the back. Raijin on the left (god of thunder and storms), and Fujin on the right (god of wind). You see these two everywhere in Japan on the temples entrances. They are the oldest gods on the Japanese Shinto religion. The same images are embroidered on the left and right side of the chest panel. There is a Black stripe that runs down the sleeves. It has two pockets, one on each side. It has a black inner lining.

These Sukajan jackets beautifully combine the basic style of the American standard Letterman jackets with quintessentially Japanese motifs such as the dragon, the eagle, the koi-fish and the tiger.

The name Sukajan is an abbreviation of their original Japanese name - Yokosuka Jumper. The jackets were originally created by Japanese craftsmen on request for U.S. military personnel around the Yokosuka Air Force Base after WWII, and were also known as Souvenir Jackets. 60 years on, these jackets have lost none of their cool factor.

This jacket really makes a statement!
