Beautiful length of absolutely wonderful early French cotton chintz.

A chintz that no longer has a glaze so most likely very lightly glazed originally.

Lovely roses & poppy  pattern floral accented with picotage dotted coralling.

The old hues are magnificent, a burnished type rusty coppery coral red accented with black on a sort of tan/cream ground.

The printing process on such a piece would have been very labor intensive as the picotage was generally printed using blocks with tiny pins.

It is aprox. quilting weight or just a hint heavier in a mid/larger scale. 

Perfect for an abundance of period projects; home pieces;  pillows, windows as well as patchwork, restoration, journals, band/hatboxes, bodices and clothing etc...A magnificent find.

Condition is good and strong for it's age. Has some random patina which is pleasing. I have not laundered this and am leaving it up to the buyers preference.
