IMPORTANT NOTE

This spring was designed to last for the life of the car. Most of the other available springs are copied on the Subaru design and will therefore last about the same time as the original Subaru spring.

DESCRIPTION

This replacement kit is intended to repair broken AC compressor clutch return spring without having to remove the compressor from the car. Please verify that your compressor looks like the compressor shown above (Valeo DKV-10R / 73111FG001). If your return spring is broken, the clutch plate will most probably be loose on the compressor shaft held in between the pulley and the compressor shaft flange. You will also easily notice the 3 broken springs. If this is the case this replacement spring will let you repair you compressor at low cost. The kit includes a replacement springs and rivets. Instructions with pictures are also supplied.

This replacement spring is made from first quality Spring Steel.

Until you receive your replacement spring you can remove the drive plate to prevent any further damage:

• Remove the screw in the center of the compressor.
• Remove the flange (triangle part) and drive plate.
• Remove the 6 rivets securing the spring to the flange and drive plate.
• Save the drive plate for later and re-install the flange and screw without the drive plate. This is to avoid losing the shim washers that are between the compressor shaft flange and the compressor. At this step, you can also verify that the compressor is not seized. You should be able to rotate the flange by hand.

You will have to remove the flange again to install the spring and drive plate when you get the spring replacement kit.
