Condition: Two small holes punched upper left and right for original display purposes. Very good. Light overall handling, Corners very lightly bumped etc.

As well as being quite scarce the double sided format offers a unique framing option in that both sides can be displayed. You tire of one side….you flip it around. Also works well with a change of room colour or décor.

These (afters) of Warhol can be confusing to the uninitiated or casual buyer. eBay and a host of other auction and art selling sites have listings for this work. Many are contemporary reproductions. That is, direct copies of the work. These, for the most part are identified as such and as one would expect, the prices are much lower. The problem of course is when the reproduction is passed off as the original. In this case the original is a reproduction as well, that is a photo-offset copy of Warhol’s original silkscreen work. To add to the confusion, there were a series of these prints in different colours and color combinations. They were issued as promotional visual aids in 1997-98 through high-end retailers in North America to promote Chanel 5.

The one listed on our site is different in that it is double sided (two separate color images) and is on stiff card. We are unaware of any current listings of the work in this format. This is one of the original promotional double sided posters from that campaign. It is a photo offset lithograph after the original by Warhol. 1997. Please refer to the photos provided for further clarification.
