Chester Dixon Snowden (American 1900-1984)

“Woman Dancing”

Oil canvas, laid down

15” x 11 ¼”

Signed and dated ('56) vertically upper right

In our opinion one of the finest examples of the Texas modernist’s work. Perhaps a tad atypical and closer to his work in illustration. Stylistically, a throwback nod to an earlier period with touches of late Jugenstil and subsequent Art Deco motifs.

Absolutely stunning! Handsomely framed.

Condition: Painting is excellent. The frame has a few dings and scratches etc.  commensurate with use and age.

Beautiful!
