Castellum ad Butzfliet // Castellum vulgo Kruck Schanz


Two views above one another on the same page. 


The upper engraving the picks the siege of Butzfliet, Lower Saxony, which capitulated to Field marshal Carl Gustav Wrangel on the 28th July (7th September) 1657. The lower engraving depicts fortification Kruck (Kruckschanz) near the town of Elmsgorn, Schleswig-Holstein. The fortifications were taken by Swedes on the 3rd (13th) August 1657, Danes having fled.

This copper etching  is in very good original condition. Hardly visible vertical centerfold.
