Vintage original oil on canvas painting "Jones Island" signed Pierre Henri Matisse. Painting measures approx. 16" x 20" and includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a signed promotional brochure for the artist's newly released book- The Missing Matisse: A Memoir.

This amazing piece is from a series of Florida landscape paintings created in the late 1960's and early 1970's by Pierre H. Matisse, grandson of the infamous Henri Matisse. As a child in France, Pierre trained under his grandfather and grew up among some of the most famous artists in history, including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. Pierre relocated to Florida in the United States in the 1960's. I had the pleasure of meeting Pierre on a couple of different occasions. The artist confirmed that this painting is indeed 100% genuine and supplied me with the COA and brochure that are included with the painting. 

Pierre passed away on June 27th, 2019.
