Set of Four Walnut and Woven Seat Chairs by George Nakashima
Constructed from solid walnut, featuring bowed backs, turned legs and spindles side and back supports, woven seats, pegged joints, these chairs are among the artist's earliest designs and made their debut in the 1940s and became am iconic design from the woodworker's repertoire. They exemplify structural honesty and functionality held to a high standard of craftsmanship by one of the greatest American woodworker.

This set of chairs have been recently reconditioned and the seats have been re-roped with a more durable Danish cords by Nakashima Studio, circa 1960s.
