Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant is a water-based low sheen acrylic sealant that is ideal for interior and exterior surfaces by providing a flexible barrier that protects against the damaging effects of rain, moisture and sun/UV rays and light abrasive contact. The extraordinary ability that the multi surface sealant has is that it will expand and contract with the desired surface which intern makes the surface more durable and helps prevent blistering/flaking and damaging when cleaning.
Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant is suitable for most interior and exterior surface uses including wooden furniture, window frames, doors, conservatories, decking, bricks and mortar, tiles, pottery, plastic, metal and more.
General Preparation:
All surfaces must be clean, dry (moisture content no more than 18%) and free from dirt and debris prior to coating. Minor surface defects, imperfections and open joints can be filled with a suitable wood filler prior to coating. Only use nonferrous screws, nails and fixings.
Application:
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 2℃ or above 40℃. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish.
Initial Procedure:
Ensure product is thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced. Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant may require thinning on the first coat to highly absorbent surfaces otherwise the sealant is supplied ready for use.
Applying the Product:
Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant should be applied in a full flowing coat ensuring all surfaces and end grains are fully coated. For best results use a good quality, long-haired, soft bristle brush. You can also apply with a roller if preferred. Pay special attention to end grain, tops and bottoms of doors, and undersides of seals. Allow a minimum of 1 hour drying between coats and 24 hours for full performance.

Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant covers around 20sqm per litre.
Maintenance/Aftercare:
The need for maintenance is indicated by a lightening in colour, reduction in sheen and a loss of water resistance as the coating erodes. All defective coatings should be completely removed. Exposed timber that has turned grey /silver must be thoroughly sanded back to clean, bright timber.
Organic growths must be removed and infected surfaces should be treated with a Fungicidal Wash. Remaining sound surfaces should be cleaned using a warm water and mild detergent and rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
Cleaning:
Clean brushes and equipment with water immediately after use. If spilled, Shabby Chic Multi Surface Sealant should be removed immediately while still wet, using warm soapy water.
Storage:
Ensure this the tin is stored upright and secure at all times. Do not store below 2℃ or above 40℃.

In case of eye contact rinse immediately with clean water or in case of skin contact wash off with warm soapy water. If ingested seek medical attention.
