Petroglyphs within the Archaeological Landscape of Tamgaly - one of the
oldest and most outstanding monuments of rock art Semirechye, since
2004 a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here, at the end of the 1950s the
sanctuary with lots of rock paintings was found. Its study began in
1970-1980's. Tamgaly is located 170 km north-west of the city of Almaty
in the mountains of Anrakay. Coin comes with stamping are produced in
the network of the International Programme release and realisation of
collection coins made of precious metals of the Eurasian Economic
Community.

trademark of Kazakhstan Mint; "Ag 925 24 g." means metal, standard of
coinage and weight; the image of the coat of arms of the Republic of

KAZAKHSTAN»; stylized image of stone surface and petroglyphs of
archaeological landscape of Tamgaly; "2012" means the year of coinage
Reverse: the image of «Solar deity» with flower sprouted through a
crack in a stone; name of the coin in Kazakh and in English «PETROGLYPHS
OF TAMGALY»; inscriptions are divided by dots.
