Garlic Powder

Allium Sativum

Garlic powder has been used medicinally and as a food source as far back as 1500 BC. Garlic powder also contains most essential vitamins and minerals, including B-complex vitamins, vitamin E, calcium and magnesium. Garlic powder historically and presently is used for many different concerns such as for arthritis, respiratory infections, digestive disorders, snake and insect bites, gynecologic diseases and infectious diseases. Avoid garlic if you're already taking an anticoagulant, such as Coumadin (warfarin) or Heparin, because the blood-thinning action of the medication may be increased.
