These are amazing period bookends (or could be used as door stops) in overall GOOD CONDITION for their age, [ PLEASE SEE BOTH LISTINGS ] : green felt is secure on bottom of both cats, both cats are marked and dated, fabulous detail, please look at all 24 photo's for both listings. This 1st cat here is slightly less rubbed and weighs 3 ounces less than the other cat in my 2nd listing. These cats are made of white metal or spelter, some small dull-gray rubbed spots on original patinated, copper-toned bronze paint, no dents or scratches, very well cared for. They are both marked “C copyright 1929 D.M.W.” on the back leg.
Skillfully created in the Le Verrier style but not signed Max Leverrier. Similar French art deco cubist cats like these have sold on 1stdibs for much higher prices, only our two cats are in even better condition than those 1stdibs cats.
