From many types of coffee available, luwak (civet) coffee is the most expensive coffee in Indonesia and one of the most expensive coffee in the world. The reason behind this is because the civet has an ability to choose the ripe coffee cherries, and within its digestive system, the civet’s enzymes penetrate the beans resulting in specific chemical reactions so the coffee flavor becomes smoother and has a stronger aroma. The beans excreted by the civet are then washed thoroughly before they take the next several stages until roasting and grinding stage.

We work only with experienced growers and they pick the best coffee cherries, clean and dry them until the beans reach their best moisture content, and then sort and pick the best green beans. After that we roast and grind them to produce the finest coffee for you.

There are many coffee lovers claiming that civet coffee from Sumatra, Indonesia is the best civet coffee with its smooth flavor and its very strong aroma. However, the origin is not the only factor that affects the flavor. The production process itself is the most important factor.

Luwak coffee that comes from wild civets is much more delicious compared to coffee from caged civets. It is because the civets have an ability to choose the best, ripe coffee cherries and they only eat the best. By choosing wild civet coffee, automatically we get the best beans processed in the civets’ digestive system so we could taste a very tasty coffee. Whereas on the caged civet coffee,  the civets get a limited choice to pick coffee cherries. Everyday the growers give them varied coffee cherries and not all of the cherries are ripe (some of them are unripe and some of them are overly ripe cherries). Therefore, the civets have a limited choice and at the end they would eat the unripe and overly ripe cherries as well.
