On 17th February 1972 the 15,007,034th Beetle was sold and Volkswagen claimed the world production record for the most produced single make of car in history beating the 60-year-old record set by the Ford model T. Indeed, during its lifespan, the Beetle has outsold every other car ever made and production has now spanned nearly seventy years. This Beetle poster, recreated from the original and very rare artwork, dates from the early Seventies.
